Founded by a welder who understands the skill, precision and dedication this trade demands, Coupons by Mon was established with a clear objective: to make quality welding practice and practical education more accessible, while giving people a clear way to develop their skills and progress.

Learning to weld takes time, repetition and access to the right materials. But not everyone knows where to start. Not everyone has access to a trade school, the money to invest in formal training, or someone standing beside them showing them what to do. Sometimes life, location, finances or circumstances simply get in the way.

We don't believe that should stop someone from being able to pick up a torch, practise, learn and discover what they're capable of.

That's what Coupons by Mon was created to help change.

Our purpose-built welding coupons provide a consistent way to physically and progressively challenge themselves, while our educational resources help welders better understand what they're doing, why they're doing it and what to look for as they learn, developing confidence, precision and consistency across a range of materials and projects.

One of the most important things to know about welding is that everybody welds differently. There is no single magic setting that works perfectly for every person. Developing as a welder comes from understanding the fundamentals, learning how the puddle and material respond, making adjustments, and putting in the time under the hood. However, our purpose extends beyond practice materials and education.

We want to help connect people with the right resources, companies an opportunities within the welding industry. If someone who didn’t know where to begin can develop a skill, discover an opportunity, get their foot in the door, or eventually build a career they never thought was possible, then Coupons by Mon has accomplished exactly what it was set out to do.

02 — THE FOUNDER

The Story Behind Coupons by Mon

Coupons by Mon was founded by Monique Ambruosi, whose passion for welding, fabrication and motorsport was built long before the business ever existed.

Growing up in Australia, motorsport wasn't just a hobby, it was part of everyday life. From an early age, Monique spent countless hours alongside her father building, maintaining and working with him on his Alcohol Funny Car. Those experiences instilled an appreciation for the craftsmanship, precision and work ethic that define both fabrication and motorsport.

As she grew older, she began working for her father as a welder and fabricator at there workshop. Every project strengthened her skills, reinforced her work ethic and fuelled an even greater passion for the trade. It was during those years that welding became far more than a job, it became the career she knew she wanted to pursue.

As her racing and welding career progressed, so did the ambition to take it further. Monique made the decision to relocate from Australia to the United States to pursue her career and opportunities within the industries she had grown up around fallen in love with.

Throughout that journey, one thing became increasingly clear. Success in welding isn't determined by talent alone. It comes from having access to the right materials, the right guidance and enough opportunity to practise with purpose. That realization became the foundation for Coupons by Mon.

For many people entering the trade, those opportunities can be difficult to find. Quality materials are expensive, practice often relies on inconsistent offcuts, and developing skills can become unnecessarily difficult before someone has even had the opportunity to discover whether welding is something they truly enjoy.

That's why Coupons by Mon was created.

Not simply to sell welding coupons, but to remove some of those barriers by providing affordable, purpose-built welding coupons that allow people to practice consistently, build confidence and develop real-world skills without the cost and waste of purchasing large quantities of material.

But the vision extends far beyond the products themselves.

From the beginning, the goal has never been to simply sell welding coupons. It has been to give more people the opportunity to pursue their passion within the industry.

Rather than offering standalone welding coupons, we've designed a structured pathway that allows welders to progressively develop their skills through twelve purpose-built projects. Each stage builds upon the last, creating a clear journey from the fundamentals of welding through to advanced materials and more demanding challenges.

Beginning with Mild Steel and progressing through Stainless Steel, Aluminium and finally Titanium, each stage has been carefully designed to build confidence, develop precision and encourage continuous improvement.
